25 OCT - CBC PREMIER - Wham Bam sees Pheasant plucked, while its WoW for Redmires – A Thomas Bamford (left) hat-trick, along with a Jordan Turner strike, a Jamie Hopkins free kick and an own goal saw Civil Sports smash Wadsley Bridge Pheasant's unbeaten home record with a 6-1 victory over them. Civil were awarded an early penalty and although Josh Statham saved it, he was helpless to stop the rebound being tapped home. It was 5-0 at half time and Pheasant’s reply by Carlton Carty came in the last minute.

Just one point separates the top five in the CBC Premier after Tom Whiting with four and Jon Wall with three made it an uncomfortable day for Oughtibridge WM. Danny Reet added two more as Redmires ran out 9-0 winners.

25 OCT - DIVISION 1 - Cotts back on top with victory in the S13 derby, while the Jakes lift Boynton up a peg or two - Michael Blythen (right) scored another two as Cotts won the S13 derby with Handsworth Inn Pub 3-2 to move back to the top of Division One. Against the run of play Blythen smashed a thunderbolt deflected into the top corner from 18 yards to give Cotts the lead, but a handball in the area allowed Russ Hobson to equalise from the penalty spot. Cott’s Nick Haywood then hit the post with a 25 yard strike before the break, but the.second half saw Cotts take control of the game when Haywood smashed home from 18 yards before Blythen added his second after great work from Jon Dolan and Chris Salt. Blythen almost added a third with an overhead kick and only Tom Crosby’s fingertips pushed Matt Fells shot against the bar. Dave Haggerty grabbed a second for Handsworth late on when a free kick fell into his path, but Cotts ran out deserved winners of a game that was a real credit to both teams.

Doubles for the Jakes Gamban and Ballinger helped Boynton Sports to a 5-0 victory at Colley and joint third. Ross Thompson’s free kick was headed down by Marc Peacock for Curtis Priday to lay it off to Gamban to give Boynton a half time lead. Ballinger flicked it to Thompson added the second, before Thompson returned the favour for Ballinger to score his first of the season and he soon added his second after rounding the keeper. Man of the match Gamban completed the scoring with the last kick of the game, using the wind to score directly from a corner.

A Tom Beck (right) double helped New Bohemians to a narrow 3-2 win over Southey Social. Beck opened the scoring with a fantastic 20 yard curling effort over the keeper, before doubling his account through a crisp effort that took a deflection past the keeper. Jarrod Lomas pulled one back before half-time for Southey when he knocked home the rebound from a terrific Tom Denton save, but Bohemians restored their two goal advantage when Zach Burns scored his third goal in as many game after a great ball in from Tom Burbeary. Lomas again reduced the arrears for Southey, but Bohemians saw the game out.

Elliott Coles double for Intake Old Boys was only enough to give them a 2-2 draw with Brinsworth Phoenix. Mark Thornton gave Phoenix the lead with a towering header from John Mellor’s corner, but Coles equalised with another header and the points looked to be heading to Intake after Coles hit a terrific second, until Rob Gardiner rescued a point for Phoenix with a dazzling run and finish.

25 OCT - DIVISION 2 - Renegade, Reds and Rangers all stay in the title hunt - Renegade Football maintained their unbeaten Division Two record with a narrow 2-1 win at Shakey. Steve Dickinson took advantage of some sloppy defending to give Shakey the lead, but Marcus Gordon got to a rebound in the six yard box to equalise just before half-time. After the break, sub Mikey Vella made an almost instant impact by first winning a penalty, before getting up to take it and put his side in front. Shakey won a penalty with five minutes, but a brilliant double save from James Abramski (right) saved the three points for Renegade.

Mosborough Reds stayed third with a victory over Woodhouse Juniors by the same score. James Arrand put Reds ahead when he hammered home after a corner was headed out to him and he should have doubled the lead when Reds were awarded a penalty, but he saw his spot kick saved by the Woodhouse keeper. Reds did double their lead before half-time though when Sam Fickling took advantage of some ping-pong in the goalmouth to force the ball home. Woodhouse came back into it soon after the break when they were awarded a penalty and James Thompson scored, but despite one or two nervy moments Reds held on.

Jubilee Rangers stayed fourth with a 3-1 victory at Beighton Magpies. Jubilee opened the scoring when Josh Jackson poked home from close range and Callum Beresford soon bagged a second goal for Rangers, but it was Rangers keeper that maintained it before half-time with a string of saves. After the break, Beighton closed the gap when Matt Dickinson pushed home a cross, but Rangers two goal margin was restored when Beighton’s Aaron Winfield unluckily turned the ball into his own goal.

Leon Dearns (left) struck twice as Wadsley Jack Athletic brought Chapeltown RBL's charge up the table to a halt with a 3-1 victory over them. RBL started brightly and took an early lead when skipper Jack Marlow whipped in a corner and midfielder Tom Duty forced the ball home from close range. RBL continued to press but just couldn't find their killer touch and they were punished just before half time when a mix up in defence allowed Dearns to level going into the break. RBL were caught cold at the start of the second half when Dearns cross from the left deceived the RBL keeper and flew into the far top corner. The game was back and forwards after that and the next goal was crucial, with Lewis Smith getting it when he blocked RBL’s keeper Adam Fox’s clearance and it ricocheted into the net. Morgan Cowell then struck the post for RBL but it was too little too late.

23 OCT  - Several games scheduled for 25 Oct postponed - Three CBC Premier games Crookes v Wickersley Youth, Norton Oaks v Norton Sportsman and Royal Earl v Stannington Village, plus Sheffield Sixers v Eckington BFC in Div 1 and Killamarsh Juniors v Nether Green have all been postponed.

23 OCT  - Change of date for the League Zoom meeting - The date of the League Zoom  Meeting scheduled for 26 Oct has had to be changed to Monday 2 November starting at 7:30 pm. All clubs must attend - they have all been sent the links required to join the meeting.

20 OCT  - Fixtures for NOVEMBER now published - The Fixtures and Referees for NOVEMBER are now shown in the Fixtures section. All home teams MUST make sure that their home pitch is available on all the dates shown. Please email Keith immediately if your pitch is not available on a date shown.

All home clubs must also confirm the details with your referees and opponents for all dates shown IMMEDIATELY. If you are having to kick-off at a time other than 11 am, you MUST make sure that both your referee and opponents are aware. This is more likely to happen this season due to Covid.

The home clubs should later (the Tuesday before the game) ring the referee to make sure the referee has got all the details.

If a referee says he cannot do a game listed for them, please notify Keith immediately.

Matches without referees must still go ahead and, if you have not been allocated a referee by the date of the game, the two clubs must agree on a stand-in 'referee' between them.  Although Keith will still be working to gain more referees, because we have a lower number of referees than in recent season, it is very likely that more games than normal will not have an official referee allocated to them. If you find one yourself, will you let Keith know immediately please.

18 OCT - CBC PREMIER - Leaders rescue a point at Civil and Pheasant make it an unlucky 13 for Redmires - CBC Premier leaders Crookes had to come from two down to rescue a point at Civil Sports with a 2-2 draw. A Luke Jackson header and a Jordan Turner penalty gave Civil their two goal lead and when Josh Branch saved a penalty it looked good for them. Crookes started their fightback when Ehsan Mohammad scored with a free kick, but they still looked likely to fall to a defeat until, in the final minute, another free kick gave Liam Cartledge the opportunity to hit the equaliser.

After twelve consecutive home wins, champions Redmires lost 3-1 at home to Wadsley Bridge Pheasant. After the visitors took the lead with a superb Carlton Carty strike, Redmires pressed them back and struck the woodwork twice, but a quick break led to Pheasant being awarded a penalty which Nat Foster tucked away to double their lead. After the break both sides had chances, but it was Pheasant that struck again when Adam Askwith got on the end of a free kick. Even though Tom Whiting netted his thirteenth goal of the season to reduce the arrears for Redmires, it turned out to be just a consolation.

A Nathan Taylor (right) hat-trick helped Wickersley Youth to a 4-1 victory over Norton Oaks that leaves them just a point behind the leaders. After just five minutes Josh Kirkland’s corner was headed home by Taylor and the lead was doubled when another Kirkland cross found Jamie Fawcett to hammer home. Phil Hick pulled one back for Oaks, but Taylor, with the help of a deflection restored Wickersley’s two goal lead. Five minutes after the break Taylor completed his hat-trick when he turned on a loose ball in the six yard box, to give their former manager Martin Longdin a winning return to the side.

Norton Sportsman got back to winning ways with a 3-1 home victory over Oughtibridge WM. Quick start by Norton put Oughtibridge under pressure and, when their keeper spilled a cross, Chris Lewis stabbed home. They doubled their lead when Jack Waymouth nodded home a Conner Pryde corner, but Oughtibridge hit back and after both Charlie Cope and Adam Thomas had gone close, Callum Simms finished off a great move just before the break. The game swung from end to end in the second half, but Norton settled it with a Sam Bebbington goal.

A Sam Smith double helped Royal Earl to victory at Cobden View. Steve Brammer started the scoring with a wonder strike before Michael Towey doubled Earl’s lead with a header. Cobden, with Dom Patterson making a promising debut and Ralph Clarkson back after a lengthy injury lay-off stayed in the game until Smith’s double completed the scoring. Both sides gave praise to referee Peter Hall.

18 OCT - DIVISION 1 - Eckington Gamble on Tom to take them to the top - Division One has new leaders after a Tom Gambles (left) treble helped Eckington Boys to a resounding 8-1 victory over Intake Old Boys. That score hardly looked likely when Dale Wood fastened onto a long clearance to give Intake the lead, but Eckington stepped up their game and got their deserved equaliser when a great cross from Tom Gardner allowed Joe Harris to head home. Eckington kept the pressure up and took the lead before half time when Gambles lobbed the keeper for his first. Straight after the break Joe Ranshaw extended the lead and when Intake lost their keeper for handling the ball outside the area, Eckington ran riot. Gambles netted his second before Pat Stothard scored netted twice. Gambles completed his hat-trick before Joe Renshaw completed the scoring.

Handsworth Inn Pub lost ground as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Boynton Sports. Curtis Priday gave Boynton a deserved lead, but, after a change in formation at half-time, Handsworth levelled when Lee Thompson’s corner was headed home by David Haggerty at the back post. Handsworth keeper Tom Crosby (right) pulled of a brilliant save to stop Boynton going back in front, before a clearance off the line stopped Matt Ellis giving Handsworth the lead and another chance went begging when Chad Gibson’s cross was headed wide by Sam Marsden in the last minute.

A Liam Bryan (left) double helped FC Inter make it four games without defeat with a 2-1 victory over New Bohemians. After a goalless first half, a defensive mix up from a goal kick allowed Bryan to give Inter the lead, but Bohemians levelled when Matt Beck played Jack Brownell down the line and after a fantastic bit of skill, he squared it for Zach Burns to twist and turn before putting it in the top left corner. It could have gone either way after that, but it was Inter that took all the points with Bryan’s second.

Jack Hawkes' seventh of the season set Brinsworth Phoenix on their way to a 3-1 victory over Colley. After the Phoenix keeper stopped Colley taking the lead in the first 30 seconds, Innocent Huly’s through ball allowed Hawkes to smash Phoenix into an early lead and after more pressure, Hawkes turned provider for Jake Hallet to tap-in a second. Colley looked determined to get into the game and deservedly pulled one back through James Waite, but, with Colley pushing for an equaliser, a swift break saw Kain Gregory get his first goal for Phoenix with a sublime finish from a narrow angle after playing a quick passing move with Liam Brookfield.

A Ryan Damms (right) double helped Southey to a 5-1 home win over Sheffield Sixers. Southey went close with Todd Guest heading over from a Kieran Hopkinson free kick, Sixers were denied when Southey’s stand-in keeper Jamie Roper kept the score goalless at half time. Southey took the lead when Damms coolly lobbed the keeper, but Damon Ashall soon hit a beauty to level for Sixers. It was all Sixers at this stage, but it was Southey that went back in front after a clearance from Roper found Damms in space and he again lobbed the keeper for his second. They increased their lead when Jarrod Lomas found Scott Ellis and he made no mistake drilling into the corner and Lomas was again the provider for Junior Wheeler hit number four. Lomas got his name on the score sheet when he latched onto Ellis’s through ball and rounded the keeper before slotting home.

18 OCT - DIVISION 2 - Jubilee have a party at Reds expense, but top two win again - Jubilee Sports moved up to fourth with a 3-0 victory over third place Mosborough Reds. Jubilee took the lead with an Adam Darton goal and Joshua Reaney added to it with a free kick. Josh Jackson completed the victory with a header from a corner.

The top two kept their perfect records as Lewis Szanto (left) and Matt Claxton trebles helped Brinsworth Whitehill to a 9-0 win at Woodhouse Juniors and Nether Green beat Beighton Magpies 2-1. After just 2 minutes Joe McGuinness received the ball at the edge of the box before volleying into the top corner. To give Brinsworth the lead and they doubled it when Drew Houghton raced clear to tee up Adam Daughtrey to score. Houghton got his second assist when his cross allowed Szanto to tap home his first just before half time. Claxton grabbed his first after the break, before Houghton’s third assist for Mikey Hare to score. Cory Goodwin then put Claxton through to get his second from a tight angle. Claxton completed his hat trick for the third consecutive game with a header from Hare’s cross. Szanto netted his second after being put through by McGuinness and he completed his hat-trick and the scoring after Goodwin and Dan Crompton combined to set him up

Leaders Nether Green's 2-1 win against Beighton Magpies was much harder and only a late Luke Howson (right) penalty saw them come from behind to save their record. After a goalless first half the game seemed to be swinging Beighton’s way when their keeper Todd Saxelby saved a penalty before they went to the other end and took the lead when Matt Dickinson turned a corner home. It didn’t last long though as Harry Pollard quickly equalised and after surviving a penalty shout from Magpies, the leaders were awarded a second penalty that Howson tucked away for the winner.

Prince of Wales and Shakey shared the points in an entertaining 2-2 draw. Liam Moorhouse opened the scoring for Shakey, but Prince equalised through Luke Simmons and just after half-time Charlie Hawkins gave Prince the lead. They couldn’t hold onto it though as Michael Taylor levelled for Shakey.

11 OCT - CBC PREMIER - Sportsman undone by Gadour, and Adam's the apple of Pheasant's eye - Two Addie Gadour (left) strikes helped Stannington Village to beat Norton Sportsman 3-2 and end the CBC Premier's last unbeaten record. Village started well and took the lead when Addie Gadour nipped in and got brought down in the box, and he stepped up to put the penalty in the corner. Village should have gone further in front with Ema Gadour missing three good chances, but a second goal came after an hour when Shaun Flynn’s cross was headed home by Addie Gadour. Sportsman gave themselves a foothold when Callum Mawbey raced clear to score, but Village restored their two goal advantage when Charlie Hobson followed up his block with a volley past the keeper. Sportsman didn’t give up and with five minutes to go Chris Lewis scored to set up a frantic finish, but although Mawbey forced a save out of the Village keeper, they couldn’t grab an equaliser.

Adam Askwith hit a hat-trick as Wadsley Bridge Pheasant beat Cobden View 5-1. Pheasant missed a glorious chance to take early lead and Cobden make them pay when Mike Mcvay unleashed a great shot from the edge of the box that hit the bar and looked to be in, but Tim Pitt followed up to make sure. Pheasant came more into game and Askwith equalised before half-time. After the break, Pheasant piled on the pressure and two quick goals from Lewis Fothergill and Askwith’s second put them in control. Askwith then completed his hat-trick with a fine run and smart finish before Ash Donohoe added a fifth.

Jordan Turner struck twice as Civil Sports won 4-1 at Norton Oaks. After Turner had given Civil the lead, Oaks scored their first goal of the season through Matt Lennox, but another from Turner had Civil in front at the break. Civil continued to show Oaks how to finish in the second half with further goals from Thomas Bamford and James Brown.

11 OCT - DIVISION 1 - Eckington see off Colley to climb to second, but the chasing pack all win - Despite a spirited fightback by Colley, Eckington climbed to second in Division One with a 5-3 victory over their hosts. A lively start to the game saw Eckington on the front foot and they took the lead when Tom Gambles (left) cut in from the left to fire home from outside the box. Eckington soon had their second, when Harris Kipling’s cross was deflected into his own by a defender. A quick break saw Alister Haydock make it three and, just before half-time, Joe Renshaw produced a great piece of skill before firing home left footed.

Colley immediately pulled one back after the break through Billy Thorley, but Eckington quickly re-established their four goal lead when a deep corner from Tom Gambles allowed Joe Harris to produce a looping header past the keeper. Colley didn’t give up though and Thorley netted his second before Regan Dempsey scored a third when he sent the keeper the wrong way with a penalty.

Keeping pace with them was New Bohemians with a narrow 2-1 victory over Brinsworth Phoenix. Jack Hawkes gave Phoenix the lead early on and although Bohemians came close to equalising in the first half when Jono Cooper’s shot was saved by the keeper they went into the break behind. With George Barnes on his first game back after 8 months out with his second ACL injury, Bohemians started the second half on top and equalised when Tom Beck flicked a ball down the line to allow Sam Brown to cut in and square the ball for Sam Smith to score. Their second saw Brown again cut in from the left to tee up Zach Burns to find the top right hand corner from close range.

FC Inter also kept pace with them with a 5-4 victory in a real thriller at Sheffield Sixers. Chris Lees, Sam Read and Liam Bryan (right) goals gave Inter a three goal lead into half time. Harry Buxton’s cool finish from just inside the box pulled one back, but Tom Ward and Adam Justice strikes seemingly put Inter in total control. They were left sweating though when Tom Harrison, Buxton’s second and Liam Davies almost rescued a point but Inter held on.

After going three games without a win, Boynton Sports manager Danny Higgins changed the formation and it reaped a quick reward with a 7-0 victory over Southey Social. Southey were first to show and Ryan Damms brought a save out of the Boynton keeper, but a slip in the Southey defence allowed Kurtis Cockburn (left) to lob the keeper and give Boynton the lead. The lead was soon doubled and Cockburn was instrumental again. He held the ball up well, turned his marker and played a crossed field ball to Jake Gamban, who outpaced his man to put it on a plate for Marc Peacock to score. Cockburn was involved again for Boynton’s third just before half-time when he fizzed a ball to the back post and Sam Civil volleyed home.

After the break, Boynton continued to assert pressure and made it four when Simon Marsden’s free kick was turned home by Zeke Ballinger and after Gamban had dented a post with a volley, Gamban was set up by Cockburn to take it past the keeper and score. Gamban and Curtis Priday combined to set Cockburn up for a deserved second and the scoring was completed when Gamban rounded the keeper for his second.

11 OCT - DIVISION 2 - Jacobs goes crackers to punish Prince and Claxton alarms Rangers - Matt Jacobs (right) went crackers to score five as Renegade Football maintained their unbeaten start with an 11-0 win at Prince of Wales. The other goals came from a Mitch Cowlishaw hat-trick, two from Mikey Vella and one from Marcus Gordon.

Nether Green maintained their perfect start with an emphatic 6-0 victory at Beighton Magpies. Luke Howson with two and one each for Brad Smith, Joe Ford, Ryan Phillips and Tom Davis saw them control the game from start to finish. Action from the game is below.

Brinsworth Whitehill stayed second as Matt Claxton hit a hat-trick in impressive 6-1 victory over Jubilee Rangers. Brinsworth took the lead in the first minute when Adam Daughtrey found the in-form Matt Claxton who slotted home and after seeing another three chances saved by Jubilee keeper James Gamble, Claxton made it two after being set-up by Drew Houghton. Claxton completed his hat-trick with a header from a Kallum Nix corner. Joe McGuiness missed an open net just before half-time, but soon after the break, Mikey Hare curled a great free-kick past the keeper for Brinsworth’s fourth, before an acrobatic Adam Daughtrey goal following good work by Lewis Szanto made it five. Joe McGuinness eventually got on the goal sheet with a well taken solo goal, before Jubilee gained a consolation from the penalty spot after the keeper clumsily collided with the Josh Jackson striker and picked himself up to score with the last kick of the game.

Josh Smith netted twice as Mosborough Reds stayed in the top three with a 3-0 victory over Wadsley Jack Athletic. Terence Ncube’s pass allowed Jake Leonard to give Reds a first half lead and Smith’s first came from a free-kick into the bottom corner. Two minutes later James Arrand’s through ball allowed Smith to net his second to complete the scoring. Action from the game is below.

Chapeltown RBL made it three wins in a row, 2-1 at Shakey. RBL keeper Adam Fox was the main reason the game was goalless at half-time, but he was beaten by Liam Moorhouse at the start of the second half. RBL worked hard to get back into the game and were rewarded when Mitch Simnett's cross found Joe Moorhouse who made no mistake with his head to equalise. RBL continued to push for a winner and it came with three minutes left when Moorhouse turned provider, with his cross finding Joe Wadsworth to bullet a header into the bottom corner.

4 OCT - CBC PREMIER - Winters too hot for Earl and Whiting makes it four hat-tricks in a row, but Crookes stay top - Chris Winters (right) and James Archer both scored twice as Norton Sportsman maintained their unbeaten CBC Premier record with a 7-1 win over Royal Earl. Chris Winters raced clear after five minutes to slot home and despite Steve Brammer equalising Norton scored again when Chris Lewis finished from close range. Two penalties came in quick succession with trips in the box and James Archer confidently tucked both away. Earl, missing a couple of key players, always looked susceptible to a quick break and in the second half Winters added his second along with Michael Gibbons and Conner Pryde strikes to inflict Earl’s heaviest ever defeat in the league. Action from the game is below.

Another League record was broken as Tom Whiting (right) scored his fourth consecutive hat-trick in Redmires 5-0 victory over Norton Oaks. Jon Wall added the others against opponents that never gave up. Crookes stayed top of the CBC Premier as both Pete Smith and Ehsan Mohammad scored twice in their 8-0 win over Oughtibridge WM. It took just two minutes for Jack Downes to give Crookes the lead and Pete Smith soon added a second. Joel Purkiss, Smith’s second and Mohammad made sure the contest was over by half time, but Liam Cartledge and James Knowles made sure with second half goals.

The closest game saw Wickersley Youth beat Wadsley Bridge Pheasant with a single Josh Kirkland (left) strike. Kirkland saw an early effort fizz past a post, but the first save came from Wickersley keeper Adam Ogden as he needed to turn a shot round the post to keep the scores level. A scramble in the Pheasant penalty area saw Wickersley almost take the lead, but a minute before half time, Kirkland displayed some nifty footwork on the by-line before cutting inside to score from tight angle. The second half saw Ogden make another save before Kris Lee-Green rattled the Pheasant bar. Nathan Taylor then saw his shot saved by the Pheasant keeper, but the best save came from Ogden in the dying seconds to deny Pheasant an equaliser.

Stannington Village came from a goal down to earn their first away win of the season, 4-2 at Cobden View. Sam Porter took just two minutes to cut in and give Cobden the lead, but Village equalised when a corner from Shaun Flynn saw Bill Green elegantly glance home. Village took the lead just before half time when a shot from Charlie Hobson was parried out to Addie Gadour to tap home. After the break a winding run from Callum Lee saw him beat five men and slide the ball through to Shaun Flynn who cleverly lobbed the keeper, but Cobden got back into the game when Porter shot was only parried and Will Cutler tapped home. Village made sure of the points though when Joe Hawksworth netted with a well placed side foot shot from just outside the box.

4 OCT - DIVISION 1 - Cotts look a Shaw bet and a Gibson treble sees Handsworth stay in touch, whilst Jack's the lad for Phoenix -  Callum Shaw (right) hit a hat-trick as Cotts maintained their perfect Division One record with a 5-1 win against Colley to stay top. A slow start to the game saw both teams creating the odd chance, but it took until 35 minutes for Cotts to take the lead when Shaw crossed from 35 yards out and the ball landed over the keepers head into the net. Michael Blythen then missed a penalty just before half time, but Cotts came out in the second half a lot quicker. Man of the match Sean Simmonite was running things in midfield and his pass out wide led to Shaw crossing for Sam Stacey to head home, before Shaw grabbed his second after good work from Oliver Barret and Michael Blythen. Nicky Haywood mashed in a fourth from 18 yards, before great work from Jon Dolan down the right made a space to unselfishly pull it back for strike partner Shaw to complete his hat-trick. Christopher Onjia netted a late consolation for Colley.

Handsworth Inn Pub stayed right behind them as a Chad Gibson treble helped them to a 5-1 victory over New Bohemians. Bohemians were arguably the better side in the first half and struck the bar twice through Jono Cooper and Jack Brownell, but it was Handsworth that took the lead when a Jas Colliver cross was headed home by Russ Hobson. Bohemians levelled before half time with a Brownell penalty, but they were blown away in the second half. Colliver put Gibson through to restore Handsworth’s lead and he added his second with a shot into the top corner from outside the area. Ryan Goodison crossed for Dave Haggerty to head number four, before Gibson intercepted a thrown-in to the keeper to complete his hat-trick. The scoreline would have been more damaging had it not been for saves by the Bohemians keeper from Lou Jackson and Sam Marsden and misses by Hobson and Phil Miskell.

A Joe Renshaw double helped Eckington Boys stay third with victory over Southey Social. A good start from both sides saw Eckington looking dangerous from set pieces, but it was Southey that took the lead when Todd Guest converted a Jack Dickens corner. Southey put pressure on looking for a second, but a quick break saw Alister Haydock equalise and Tom Gambles gave Eckington a half-time lead when a corner wasn’t cleared. After the break, Southey upped the tempo and a Jamie Roper through ball found Ryan Damms who left the keeper with no chance to equalise, but that good work was undone when a mistake allowed Joe Harris to set Renshaw up for his first. Damms thought he had been impeded when through on goal, but a defence splitting pass from Patrick Stothard allowed Renshaw to grab his second, and only two terrific saves by Cal Jones in the Southey net stopped Eckington from extending their lead further. Action from the game is below:

Brinsworth Phoenix moved up to fourth after a Jack Hawkes (right) treble helped them to a narrow victory over Boynton Sports. A terrific assist by John Mellor allowed Hawkes to get his first with a delightful finish to give Phoenix the lead, but Jake Gamban and Nathan Davies strikes put Boynton ahead. Hawkes got his second with a penalty, before Liam Brookfield scored the goal of the game with a Ryan Giggs type run past five players to then send the goalie in to orbit with a Cryuff turn to give Phoenix a half time lead. After the break Ross Thompson levelled for Boynton with a spectacular overhead kick and only the Phoenix back four and keeper stopped them going ahead a second time. Instead it was Phoenix that won it when they were awarded a second penalty when Hawkes was brought down by the keeper before picking himself up to complete his hat-trick from the spot.

FC Inter dropped a place after being held 2-2 by Sheffield Sixers. Connor Lomax took advantage of a mistake to tap Sixers into the lead, but two terrific Ben Southwell strikes put Inter ahead until Danny Barnsley rolled a defender before bending the equaliser into the corner.

4 OCT - DIVISION 2 - Josh Smith double lifts Reds, and Adam's the apple of RBL's eye, whilst Jubilee Trot to victory - Mosborough Reds climbed to third in Division Two as a Josh Smith (left) double helped them to a 6-1 victory at Wadsley Jack Athletic. Jack Turner gave Reds the lead until Lewis Smith equalised, but Reds were back in front at the interval thanks to a Smith bullet into the top corner. A Terence Ncube penalty extended the lead after the break and Smith netted his second after being put in by Sam Fickling. Ncube netted his second after beating a defender before Will Hotchin’s first goal for the club wrapped up the scoring.

Jubilee Rangers are just behind them after a Harry Trotter (right) double helped them to 6-0 victory over Beighton Magpies. A couple of half chances for Beighton, but they couldn’t beat Jubilee keeper James Gamble and Dave’s Oxley’s squad got stronger as the game went on with a Jack Shaw penalty, Callum Beresford, Alfie Smith and Danny Vigrass all grabbing one each.

Chapeltown RBL moved up the table after an Adam Simpson (left) hat-trick helped them to a 9-0 victory over Killamarsh Juniors. RBL ran out comfortable winners against a spirited Killamarsh side who never gave up. Adam Simpson scored twice early on and Joe Moorhouse added another with a calm finish before the break. In the second half RBL moved through the gears. Curt Dennison with a deft header made it four before Simpson bagged his hat trick, sliding home from close range after great build up play. Chim Nkhata made it six, receiving a deep pass from Liam Wildsmith. Ben Wright then scored the goal of the game, the ball fell to him on the angle of the box and he unleashed a thunderbolt from 25 yards that flew in to the top corner. Substitute Morgan Cowell then put the icing on the cake, first lobbing the keeper from 18 yards and then rounding the keeper to score his second into an empty net.

Prince of Wales claimed their first win of the season, 4-1 at Woodhouse Juniors. Charlie Hawkins gave Prince a half-time lead with a nicely tucked penalty into the bottom left corner and after the break, Kyle McIntosh doubled Prince’s lead. Woodhouse then clawed one back through Danny Howson, but Prince settled it with goals from Matt Waterhouse and Ollie Eales.
